Meet Nicole Heim, the founder of Cienne

Nicole first started the brand after a three month expedition around Ethiopia inspired her to create a meaningful supply chain. She sources fabrics from local craftsman and textile weavers in Ethiopia, and from other artisans around the world. The clothing is then produced in high-end factories in New York City’s garment district. Nicole wants to prove that aesthetics and ethic aren’t mutually exclusive.

Cienne clothing is versatile, minimal and well tailored. The pieces are globally sourced and locally made and the brand uses sustainable and responsible practices. "The more we can connect, learn from one another, and work together, the greater the results can be" Nicole Heim.

Nicole was recently featured in Vogue for traveling to Bolivia for her AW17 collection, featuring the Sylvie staple sweater. “New York–based clothing label Cienne, knows the joy knit can bring to a woman come fall or winter” (Vogue). Nicole wants clothing to be worn with a sense of empowerment. She wants people to know how the clothing was made which is why she has created a completely transparent brand based on an eco-friendly ethos.
